There are several ways and practices to follow as a traveller to become an Ecotourist. Firstly, it facilitates becoming an eco-conscious traveller by respecting our surroundings. Most, if not all of us, love nature  as it gives us the peace of mind that we can’t find anywhere else.

Having said that, nature’s tourism should be managed properly. Therefore, we all need to play our part in protecting the future of our planet. This happens by raising awareness to enable us to protect and conserve what is left of our beautiful nature and environment.

Keep in mind and at all times during your trip, to minimize your waste consumption. This happens through various decisions like recycling and reusing your water bottles. Therefore, always be mindful to take with you a reusable water bottle.

In addition, try to avoid wasting water and energy. Most importantly when hiking, exploring nature or at the beach, make sure not to leave anything behind; paper, cans, plastic bags etc…

Visit places which are protected and related to conservation projects to support and generate revenue for these sites. Moreover, always look for Blue Flag beaches and be mindful to follow their guidelines.

Lastly, always remember that you should respect the culture and the people you are visiting. We should always keep in mind that we are entering their homes, streets and communities.
