Salzburg  has brought many splendors to Europe, but Mozart is definitely the ultimate delight.

Born in Salzburg, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart showed signs of his marvels very early on. At the age of just 5 years, he composed and presented himself in front of royal families. His performances still echo to this very day from the streets of Austria, reaching the far corners of the globe.

Mozart’s home in the heart of Salzburg is now a museum hosting his violin and the famous clavichord. Those instruments are true gems in the world of music, as they were used by Mozart to compose some of his best prodigies.

4. The Salt Mine of Hallein

This salt mine created great wealth for Salzburg since ancient times. The underground arena is famous for its clear white snow-like colour. Visitors are highly amused while inside, especially children. First you get  to ride an electric train, which is a blast to many visitors. Then the epic part of the journey comes to life while sliding to the lower level of the mine.

The final surprise would be the subterranean lake. You get to explore this picturesque lake through a raft, what a joy!

Many bridges connect the city and you have the chance to cruise your bike along the smooth flow of the Salzach river. Many tourists will choose the boat cruises and the relaxation in the flowing river.  On the other hand, you get to enjoy the beauty of the green and colorful nature surrounding you, while at the same time pamper yourself with the symphonies of the flowing river. No wonder how Mozart got his inspiration in this paradise!

The bike will also yield the chance of exploring the Nonnberg Abbey. This monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and well worth your visit.

No matter what your preferences might be for spending a lovely holiday, you’ll surely find a suitable activity to embark on while in Salzburg. Winter time has its own charm around the city, while summer hosts a lot of lovely surprises awaiting for you to unveil them and explore the hidden delights in every corner of Salzburg streets.
