What is slow travel and what is the main idea behind it? Slow travel is an approach and a mindset that gives us a way to experience and connect with local people across countries. It binds us to cultures, food, music, and much more. However, we should always keep in mind to be a responsible traveller, sustainable and environmentally friendly one.

Consequently, the main idea behind it is to give us the opportunity to explore each country. More specifically, is to let it have its natural and emotional impact on us. In a nutshell, slow travel is basically quality over quantity

Slow travel ensures that you get the most from each country you visit. Therefore, you can spend your whole vacation in one place and be satisfied. As a result, when you go back home you will not be needing a vacation after your vacation!

It was a movement to protect the Italian cuisine and culture from being ruined by globalization. This slow food movement has created more initiatives not only to protect the food culture but more trending now, to protect the Italian tourism and heritage. 

Many tourism forums and projects are being created to protect and encourage agritourism in rural and hidden parts of Italy. Even the government has approved and recognized the importance of this initiative.  These projects aim to allow tourists to get to know more Italian cities and get  to better experience the culture and deeply connect with the locals.

The US is known for its road trips and driving motorhomes. Therefore, one can easily guess that slow travel will be a joyful pastime here and the US can easily make itself among the top countries for slow travel.

It goes without saying that slow travel has a lot of benefits for the travelers themselves and the hosting countries. You tend to have a better connection with the landscape and the local people. Also, you can save more money and more importantly have a less stressful journey. We believe that the most memorable travel experiences are the ones  enjoyed when we stop moving so fast and appreciate every little detail about the trip.
