It is very true that during a holiday, a lot of our plans change. After all this is the main purpose of travelling and running away from our routine and busy lives. However, that should not equalize the idea of skipping on healthy foods.

Breakfast is the start of the day, and to begin your vacation flawlessly, start with the first meal correctly. Today and more than ever, many accommodation facilities offer Bed and Breakfast, whether it is a hotel or Airbnb. On the other hand, after commencing our day, the next thing would be to make some exercice and gymnastics. This might be hard for some people to do, as they are away from their daily schedule.

Usually, a foreign country will have different modes of living than the ones we are accustomed to. As a result, finding the right venue to exercise might be a bit of a hassle, especially if the hotel does not have its own in-house gym.

Likewise, there are also some applications were you can do annual subscriptions for gyms around the world. Consequently, once you reach your destination you can locate the nearest gym and maintain your fitness routine.

Taking all of this into consideration prior to departure, is a strong start to our trip in terms of our fitness schedule. As a matter of fact, this is the role of proper decision making.

On the other hand, when offered the choice of food/drinks tasting versus outdoor excursions and activities, it would be wise to choose the latter, as we are already guilty of insufficient movements.

It is a luxury to get to taste a plethora of new foods while in a foreign country. However, that should stop at the stage of tasting. It is by all means very unnecessary to finish all new plates, no matter how flavoursome they might be. It is always a great idea to share the food, in order not to waste it, this way you can taste and not get full at the same time.

There are those ingredients that we can always evade, while still enjoying a rich and tasty meal. Saturated fats disguised in crispy fries and onion rings, are better skipped altogether. Additionally, sauces can be limited or eliminated entirely, if need be.

Afterwards, comes the garnishings and spices. It is a known fact that salt increases water retention and bloats our bodies, especially in the limbs area. The best advice we heard lately is to substitute salt with pepper. Notwithstanding the fact that we should not go overboard with pepper as well, since it has its own disadvantages if not eaten in moderate amounts.

Even though sugary desserts look so sweet, pun intended! Nevertheless, we should never be deceived by looks. We all love our whipped cream on top of our colorful desserts which in turn are stuffed with sugars and preservatives.

Hence, beware of the constant marketing for the lovely desserts after lunch or dinner. Alternatively, you can eat the fresh fruits from the locally produced farms.
